Betty Joann Clark, 80, of Powers Lake, ND passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, April 22nd, surrounded by her loving family. She was one of six children, born on July 12, 1945 to Eddie and E. Adele (Jacobson) Nelson.

After graduating from Stanley High School in 1963, Betty married John Clark on August 16th, 1964. Powers Lake was their lifelong home with their children, Brenda, Vincent, and Melissa.

Betty was a faithful and kind wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a strong and steady presence in her family and community. She made every conversation feel easy, whether over a cup of coffee, sitting in the sun on the deck, or in a simple greeting at the grocery store.

Betty found joy in life’s simple, quiet moments. She loved the outdoors, flowers, and camping. She especially enjoyed mowing the lawn with her push mower on a hot summer day. The smell of fresh cut grass and a neat, well-manicured yard brought her happiness.

Betty liked making her delicious banana bread, oatmeal cookies, strawberry shakes, and fried chicken for others to enjoy. She relaxed in the evenings while watching Hallmark and Lifetime movies or by reading a good book. Her love of music kept her tuned in to the latest episodes of American Idol and The Voice.

Betty cherished the many activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always keeping busy and loving each one of them. She was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church and WELCA.

Betty is survived by her children; Brenda (Scott) Carlson, Vincent (Nancy) Clark, Melissa (Kevin) Evenson; grandchildren, Jordan (Haylee) Carlson, Megan (Ben) Tarap, Alex (Shantell) Carlson, Zachary (Zaina) Clark, Hannah Clark, Lexie Evenson (Sterling), Kaden Evenson, Bailey Evenson (Matt), Emily Evenson (Caleb); great-grandchildren, Coy, Clancee, Quade and Knox Carlson; Tyson, Brayden, Carson, and Lincoln Tarap; Bentley Bailey, Gunner and Harley Clark; Madden and Navy Kluck and Eleanor Meier; Lettie Carlson; Junie Betty Bennett; brother, Dale (Marlys) Nelson; sister, Judy (Bruce) Leier; brother-in-law, Robert (Debbie) Clark, George Moe; sister-in-law, Leone (James) Sundley, Ellen Bredahl.
