Kevin Scott Kringen
January 21, 1959 - February 3, 2025

Place of Birth: Sidney, Montana
Residence: Sidney, Montana
Age: 66

Kevin Scott Kringen was born January 21, 1959, in Sidney, Montana to Harriett (Baadsgaard) and Rudy Kringen, the third of four children. His father passed away when he was 11 years old and his mom worked hard to raise four kids by herself. Kevin always wanted to keep busy as a kid, and worked miscellaneous jobs, before working at Al’s Conoco after completing his education in the Sidney School System.

When his brother, Randy, founded Kringen Construction, Kevin was one of his first employees, working alongside him in the construction business, as well as Sidney Rental. Kevin was a highly sought-after and skilled crane operator, who was very proud of his license and certification.

For several years, Kevin also worked in seismography with ECS for Monty Erickson, along with his good friend Mick Frison. When the oil boom hit, Kevin joined the rush, even making the cover of Western Oil Reporter. Kevin began his truck driving career with Rig Gremlin, working for his son, Aaron, hauling water. His last employment was with Trust T Trucking, a job he loved. Kevin was forced to retire due to his cancer diagnosis on May 24, 2024.

Throughout his life, he was an avid supporter of Richland Ranger Hockey, a member of the Sidney Saddle Club, a Member of the Moose Lodge, and a supporter of Emmaus House. Firmly planted in his faith, Kevin was a member at Pella Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed.

Important milestones in his life included the arrival of his children, Aaron, Theresa, Christine, and Brandon, and his marriage to Brenda (Swanson Eberling) on November 27, 2015, which blessed his life with two additional daughters, Charity and Marissa, and beloved grandchildren Kendal and Landon.

Kevin was known for his sense of humor, bright outlook, and larger than life personality. He never questioned God’s will and maintained a positive attitude even though the outcome of his diagnosis was grim. He was best known for the sunglasses emoji and reminding people that they are Aaaamaaazzing.

Kevin enjoyed camping trips at Trenton Lake with his brother-in law, Scott Swanson, glamping with his wife, campfires, plinking, playing cards, grilling, and spending quality time with friends and family, and never missed any activity his kids were in. Family was important to Kevin who enjoyed attending any function or sport his children and grandchildren enjoyed.

He enjoyed video calls with friends and family which allowed him to stay in touch, including his weekly video calls with his girls. He was extremely proud of his children’s military service and pursuit of advanced degrees. He recently welcomed two new sons-in-law into the family and was blessed to know baby Weatherford would be an exciting addition.

A master of all trades, friends and family often sought his advice. He was a good listener, very wise, and was only a phone call away, day or night. Kevin encouraged everyone to enjoy life and make memories you can look back on.

Kevin joined his heavenly family on Monday, February 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, following his diagnosis and treatment for an aggressive brain cancer.

Kevin is survived by his wife Brenda (Swanson Eberling) Kringen; his children, Aaron Kringen of Sidney, Montana; Theresa (Abel) Valencia, of Keene, Texas; Christine (Wesley) Weatherford, of Fort Worth, Texas; Charity (Jared Poland) Eberling, of Culbertson, Montana; Marissa Eberling, of Sidney, Montana; his grandchildren Kendal and Landon Poland, Ashley (Valencia) Salinas, and anticipated grandbaby Weatherford; sister, Valerie (Pat) Mathern and sister in-law Suzie Kringen (Tim Foerster); aunts Marlene (Elso) Reints, of Ennis, Montana; and Bev Baadsgaard, of Billings, Montana; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by the family dog Griff, and his grand dogs, Zook, Beckett, Riley, Millie, Ollie, and Gracie.

We are grateful he was greeted by the family who preceded him in death; including, his son, Brandon Kringen; his parents, Harriett and Rudy Kringen; brother Randy Kringen, sister, Pam (Kringen) Unterseher, brother in-law, LeRoy Unterseher, his grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles. He was also greeted by the family dog, Allie, and grand dogs Cooper and Jesse.

Kevin was one of the funniest guys I've ever known. Always a jokester even some 35 years ago I recall him pulling pranks at UBC back when all the contractors used to hang out early morning before work. More recently it was always a joke about buying any guns I had..which were never for sale. He loved to talk about his gun collection, I hope his family cherishes his collection and awesome spirit.

I've had the pleasure of knowing Kevin for many years. It started through his community involvement, then through family, and finally through work at Trust T Trucking. He would come give me hell in the office after his shift, always trying to barter for ANOTHER hat or other swag. His mischievousness was entertaining and his smile will never be forgotten. I know his family and friends will miss him dearly; prayers to all for the hard days ahead. Love ya Kevin.
