Jack Patrick Galusha
September 27, 1952 - January 9, 2025

Place of Birth: Minot, North Dakota
Residence: Williston, North Dakota
Age: 72

Jack Patrick Galusha, 72 of Williston, ND passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of January 9, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife, his entire family, and his faithful little dog, Max.

Jack was born on September 27, 1952, in Minot to Sidney “Wayne” Galusha and Blanche (Deserly) Galusha. He was raised in Plaza and then later in Williston.

Jack was a gentle natured man with a happy go lucky personality. He was the type to give without hesitation. He was also known as the fun-loving jokester with his friends and family, especially with his great nieces and great nephews. He had an infectious laughter, loving smile, and a radiant spirit that touched everyone he met. He could draw anyone in just by his gentle eyes and strangers soon became close friends. His family has many stories about how he always got himself into some type of predicament.

In his younger days, he had a knack of repurposing/rebuilding cars so he could take them offroad, where he would often be found in the fields driving at a high rate of speed and spinning out with a smile on his face and laughing even more when he would see the looks on his passenger’s faces. Jack, along with his family, and friends always looked forward to the very well attended and lively Quonset parties that were hosted by his parents, Wayne and Blanche. He also had fond memories of spending time with his cousins.

Jack worked in the oilfield in the 70’s and 80’s, then later worked in the carpentry and construction industry. He had a natural talent in woodworking, where his creative projects always turned out to be amazing. He spent many years with his wife managing residential communities in both Washington and California. Needless to say, he was a Jack of all trades.

Jack and his wife Diane traveled as often as possible. They enjoyed many cruises together, went to Hawaii, the Caribbean, Mexico and recently went on a trip to Georgia and then a road trip to California. In May 2024, he enjoyed his last cruise in the Caribbean.

Jack was an avid outdoorsman who truly loved exploring. Through the years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and camping. He would try to find every opportunity to gem hunt and recover gold.

Jack had a deep love for his family and also that of his wife’s family. He thoroughly enjoyed making memories with them all.

He recently stated that he had a long and adventurous life. He expressed much gratitude for all of his experiences that he felt so blessed to have had.

We are so grateful to Jack’s sister, Collette and beloved nieces, Nicki, Shirelle and Sheree for their loving care of their uncle Jack. Sheree stood vigil by his side through the worst weeks of his illness, with little sleep, she remained completely devoted to her second dad through his darkest times. Jack was so blessed to have the care of his nieces in his final days.

Jack was a beloved husband, brother, uncle and friend.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Diane; sister, Collette (David) Sorenson; mother-in-law, Barbara McClellan; aunt, Lois Deserly; sisters-in-law, Laura Parrish and Susan Holley; nieces, Nicki (Scott) Franklin, Shirelle (Tim Kastner) Sorenson, Sheree Sorenson, Teri Punzo, April Ellsworth, Margaret Smith, and Gina Gonzales Farley; numerous beloved great-nieces and great-nephews; and his step-grandson, Broden Hamdan.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; parents, Sidney “Wayne” and Blanche Galusha; brother, Jerry Galusha; sister-in-law, Diana Rubalcaba; niece, Candice Sorenson; stepchildren, Tiffany Hamdan and Patrick George; and great-nephew, Christian Sorenson.

Jack is deeply loved and missed by his entire family.
