Tonia Weathersby, 65 years of age, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024, at St. Alexius Health Bismarck Hospital.

Tonia DeAnn Weathersby was born March 15, 1959, to Ray Griffith and Jane Jacobs in Jasper, Texas. She was raised and educated at Orange Stark High School, in Orange, Texas. She later attended Lamar University and completed some college courses.

On April 14, 1984, Tonia was united in marriage to Dale R. Weathersby. They made their home in West Orange, Texas where they raised two of their three children, Brandee and Keri. In 1992 the family moved to Fort Madison, Iowa and in 1995 they welcomed their third daughter, Kimber. In 2005, Tonia, Dale and Kimber moved to Tioga, North Dakota. In 2021, Tonia and Dale adopted four of their grandchildren as their own (Jaedyn, Ashton, Isabella and Caleb Weathersby).

Tonia had many jobs while raising her children with her husband. She worked at Silgan Company, was a tax preparer, a waitress at Alpha’s on the Riverfront, and worked as a para-professional in the school setting. By far, her favorite was being a para-professional and spending time with kids. Tonia had many hobbies, some were fishing, doing puzzles, crocheting, watching Law and Order, coaching softball when her children played in high school, and spending time with family, especially all her grandchildren.

Tonia was well known for being honest and letting everyone know how she felt. She was strong yet extremely kind, loving, and compassionate. She would do anything for anyone, especially for her girls. She was a fighter, she fought until the end, never giving up.

Tonia will be greatly missed by her husband of 40 years, Dale Weathersby; daughters, Brandee Slough, Washington state, Keri (Adam) Fedler, Tioga, ND, and Kimber (Andrew) Burt, Omaha, NE. She is survived by her mother, Jane Jacobs; siblings, Donald (Vicki) Griffith, Bridge City, TX, and Ronald (Theresa) Griffith, Vidor, TX. Her grandchildren, Jaedyn, Ashton, Isabella, Caleb Weathersby, Grace and Thea Fedler, Malcolm and Holden Burt.

Tonia was preceded in death by her father, Ray Griffith; and sister, Sheila Tyler.

She will be dearly missed by all. Strong courageous and straight to the point was definitely her motto. Loved her very much. She is feeling no pain and is smiling down on us all with open arms and welcoming us all to her new home with the lord. Rest in peace Tonia WEATHERSBY.
