Jim graduated from CMR High School in Great Falls, Montana in 1968. He met the love of his life, Patricia Paulson of Scobey, Montana. They united in marriage on February 19, 1972. From this union came one son, Chadwick (Julie) Lander of Sidney, and one daughter, Barbara (Kyle) Lander Nelson also of Sidney.

Jim began his work life at the Anaconda Company for several years. He then started his commercial painting career as an apprentice with the Rainbow Painting Company, later starting his own commercial, residential and oil field painting business. Jim was a member of the API in Sidney. He was on the scholarship committee that gave many financial scholarships to area students.

My condolences to the family. When losing a loved one it can be unbearable. In the Bible book of Isaiah 25:8 Jehovah God promises soon to "swallow up death forever." He also promises to bring back those who have fallen asleep in death (Acts 24:15). In a little while longer this kind of pain will be a thing of the past (Revelations 21:4). May these scriptures bring you comfort in this difficult time (jw.org)

Pat and family,
I was so saddened to hear of Jim’s passing. Jeff and I had such great memories of times spent at Tobacco Gardens. I will always remember Jim’s infectious personality and his great laugh. Jeff and Jim are no doubt telling great fish stories to each other right now. My sincere sympathy to you and your family. Many prayers and love to you and your family.

Pat and family, I am so very sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. He was a great friend. I and many others will always hold dear the memories of the “Lander’s Toy’ days of building and racing cars here in Great Falls. The greatest gift of all was his sharing all those adventures, and leaving us with the best experiences. I am grateful and thankful to call him my friend. May you and yours find peace in knowing Jim was a gift to so many.
