Our father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend, Roger Lee Moberg, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of May 8th, 2024. A day set to memorialize his wife of 51 years, Judy Ann Moberg.

Roger was born a few short miles away in Powers Lake, ND on November 16th, 1947 to Arthur and Grace Moberg. He was raised on the family farm where he lost his father during his graduating year at Powers Lake High School in 1966.

Roger joined the United States Air Force in November, 1967 where he obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant E-5 during the Vietnam War as an aircraft mechanic. He was honorably discharged in November, 1971. Although dad rarely sought out recognition, we are forever grateful for his service to our country.

Roger met our mother, Judy Moberg, as he said it – “Cruising down main street in Tioga”, they were united in marriage on January 12th, 1973. It was in 1976 that Roger and his young family moved back to the family farm where he began his life some 29 years earlier.

Roger spent his career working in the oilfields of northwest North Dakota. During the cycles of boom and bust, Roger was quick to take a farm job or hired hand job to support his family. One of these side jobs eventually led dad and mom into a thriving cattle operation. They both worked tirelessly tending to their cattle. Although he was a humble man, Roger was proud of his work in both the oilfield and cattle operation. He was a great teacher, leader and mentor to so many throughout his career.

Although dad did not have a lot of hobbies upon retirement, he did enjoy classic cars, a good nascar race or football game. Countless Sunday afternoons were spent watching a good game or race and enjoying the company of friends and family.

Rogers greatest treasures were his grandchildren. He beamed with pride every time he spoke of them and his love for them was astounding.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Grace Moberg; his wife of 51 years, Judy Moberg.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Stacey (Scott) Vejtasa; son, Bryan Moberg; as well as grandchildren, Carter, Megan, Asha, Addison, Brinley, Cora and Darci. Also survived by his three younger siblings, Donny (JoAnn) Moberg, Janet (Vern) Stoner and Shirley Moberg.
