David Robert Kanenwisher, 72, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2023 at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND.

David was born on March 21, 1951 to Rudy and Emma (Paulson) Kanenwisher. He attended Stanley Schools until his Senior year of High School and graduated in 1970 from Minot High School. He attended Bismarck State College receiving a Certificate in Welding and worked for Local 512 as an Iron Worker for many years doing structural steel and construction and also building power plants. He also received a permit with the Boilermakers Local 549. He loved welding and would do many projects on the side as well for family and friends.

David married Jane Graff on March 21, 1975. Together they had three boys. Heath, Philip and Joshua. Dave loved his boys and they loved him. He enjoyed taking them fishing, boating and camping out at the lake. David also had his own mechanic shop in Minot for a few years as he loved to work on cars. He would always stop if he saw someone stranded and would help them with whatever problem they were having. He loved to play cards, mostly pinochle and cribbage and his dad Rudy would also join in on the activities. David also loved to watch his boys in all the sporting events they participated in. Track was one of his favorites to watch them in. He was a big fan of football and loved to watch his favorite teams, the Minnesota Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs, and NDSU Bison. We can’t forget to mention Dave’s two little furry friends Max and Charlie. They loved Dave as much as he loved them.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Rudy and Emma; and his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Kanenwisher.

His remaining family includes his sons, Heath (Jennifer) Kanenwisher of Elk River, MN, Philip (Jennifer) Kanenwisher of Stanley, ND, Joshua (Tailor) Kanenwisher of Grove, OK; grandchildren, Mikayla, Hope, Caden and Colby Kanenwisher of Elk River, MN, Gary (Rebecca) Partridge of Marseilles, IL, Dani (BJ) Redmond of Stanley, ND, Austin and Sierrah Kanenwisher of Stanley, ND, Aaron, Allie and Lucas of Grove, OK; great grandchildren, Neveah, PD and Elsie Partridge of Marseilles, IL, Natalia, Giovani and Gregory Redmond of Stanley, ND; siblings, Diane (Rand) Olson and Carol (Elmer) Nelson both from Stanley, ND; and several nieces and nephews.

I am saddened to hear of my cousin David's death. Carol too!) They both helped me pass Tenderfoot in something like one week. I remember many good times at family gatherings, in school, and home. God bless David, grant him your peace, and comfort the family at this time. Amen

I will miss David and his kindness, care, and sense of humor! My memories extend back to the beginning of childhood. He had time to help others as he did for me driving and rescuing me from Billings. I send my Condolences to David's family. and friends.
