Kevin E. Sondrol
December 29, 1956 - June 20, 2023

Place of Birth: Williston, North Dakota
Residence: McKinney, TX and Watford City, ND
Age: 66

Kevin E Sondrol, 66, of McKinney, TX and Watford City, ND passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at his home in Watford City, ND.

Kevin was born on Dec 29, 1956 in Williston, ND to Norman and Marlene Sondrol. He attended elementary school in Tioga, ND. The family then moved to Watford City where he attended school and graduated from Watford City High School in 1975.

After graduating, he attended NDSCS in Wahpeton. Kevin then went on to work in the oilfield industry. During his years in the oilfield, Kevin worked in North Dakota, Montana, Texas and as a driller on an offshore drilling platform in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Mumbai, India. During the time of working offshore he also spent some of his time living on Mount Hood, Oregon which he really enjoyed.

When working in the Texas oilfields he met Vickie Norris. Together they had a daughter, Jessica Ann.

After his many years in the oilfield, Kevin settled in Austin, TX where he began an 18-year career working for United Airlines. There he met and married Jane Allen. While working for United they transferred to Colorado Springs, CO. where their son Branson Eugene was born.

Years later Kevin returned to Watford City, to enjoy life and spend time with his parents, brother Mitch and friends.

Kevin loved his dogs and had a dog most of his life. He had several Springer Spaniels and the most recent dog was a Gordan Setter he named Sonny. He made sure his dogs were well trained and very well mannered. Kevin also enjoyed hunting upland birds and big game. One of his favorite trips was an elk hunt in Colorado with his father and friends.

Kevin was an awesome cook and enjoyed any opportunity to share his cooking with others. Those who tasted his biscuits and gravy most likely never had better.

Most recently, he was reunited with Michele Dahl, a special person from his early life just out of high school. They were making their life together in McKinney, TX.

He is survived by his fiancé Michele Dahl; his daughter Jessica (Rudolph) Oswald of San Antonio, TX, her girls Annabelle, Addison and Avery; his son Branson of Tampa, FL; father Norman of Bismarck ND; sister Wendy (Al) Luckow of Thompson Falls MT, their sons Brant, Jared and Travis;
brother Steven (Diane) of Wichita, KS, their children Austin and Crystal; brother Mitchell of Watford City, his children Damon and Chastity; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Dorothy Sondrol and Oscar and Olga Skogen, as well as his mother Marlene Sondrol.
