Kathleen “Kathy” Rolfe, 71, of Palermo, North Dakota passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at the Mountrail County Medical Center in Stanley, North Dakota.

Kathleen (Kathy) Ann Rolfe was born on September 13, 1950 to Ralph and Louise Geinert in Hettinger, ND. Kathy was the second oldest of eight children. She graduated from Gackle, ND High School in 1968, and she went on to attend beauty school in Jamestown. Kathy then began her beautician career in Fargo and then moved to Bismarck. Kathy was in search of a roommate and found a lifelong best friend, Judy. She soon after met her husband, Howard Rolfe; they married on May 25, 1973. Kathy and Howard had three wonderful sons. Their family lived in Mandan until moving to Palermo in 1983.

Throughout her career she continued to work as a beautician in Stanley and Kenmare with over 25 years of experience as a hairdresser. Kathy enjoyed visiting with friends and getting to know new friends. Kathy was an Avon representative for 28 years. Many people in the community loved seeing Kathy “The Avon Lady.”

Kathy was always perfectly put together with her hair fixed, nails painted, and matched jewelry. She enjoyed sewing and creating her own clothing. Kathy was so creative; she painted, quilted, gardened, and was always baking. She was thoughtful, she always made sure to mail you a card to let you know she was thinking of you. Kathy was attentive, genuine, and caring. At Christmas she always made sure everyone had their own homemade Christmas stocking and every year a heartfelt and homemade gift.

Kathy was a very proud and committed member of the Faith Lutheran church in Palermo, ND. She never missed a Sunday church service and had many fond memories with her church Ladies group. She also served as a Sunday school teacher for Faith Lutheran as well as the Ladies Aid president, and served on the church council.

Kathy was married to her loving husband, Howard for 49 years. Kathy was always happy to see her children and grandchildren. She left this earth and was welcomed into God’s arms on May 3, 2022 at the age of 71. She will be greatly missed.

Kathy is survived by her husband Howard Rolfe; sons, Chad Rolfe (Allyn), Layne Rolfe (Tyra), and Ryan Rolfe; siblings, Erich Geinert (Cathee), Craig Geinert (Mary), Lynea Geinert (Eric Oines), Kristee Freadhoff (the late Karl), and Wendy Johnson (Grant); grandchildren, Shadoe Sveen (Trevor Almer), Gabrielle Rolfe (Caleb Ramos), Bayley Rolfe and Noah Rolfe.

Kathy is proceeded in death by her parents; Ralph and Louise Geinert; brothers, Orin Geinert (Anita) & Dani Geinert (Lori).
