Linda was born on February 5, 1953, in Watford City, ND the daughter of Lucas “Luke” and Grace (Levang) Allex. Linda was the second of four children. She grew up in Watford City, graduated from Watford City High School. After graduation she worked at the Lakeway Truck Stop & Café where she met a guy that she thought was a total Ass. Linda later married that Ass, Richard Richardson, on July 29, 1972, in Watford City and was married for 46 years. They had three boys, Robert “Bob”, Richard “Rick” and Troy. While her children were growing up, Linda ran a daycare in her home. After her children grew up she worked for several businesses in Watford City including the Twist Drive Inn, Olson Appliances, a floral shop, and both grocery stores, Mike’s and Jack and Jill’s.
Linda was very proud of being from Watford City. She was a devoted wife, mother, nana, daughter and sister. Linda was a fierce supporter of her kids and grandkids activities, and she was even known to push a coach out of her way at a football game for stepping in front of her while her kids were on the field.
Linda was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Watford City, Friendly 15 Homemakers and the Larsen’s coffee group.
On June 12, 2017, Linda was diagnosed with lung cancer. With her family’s support and love, Linda met this challenge head-on and chose to fight, and fight she did. She fought thru surgeries, radiation, chemo, and the ups and downs of battling cancer.
Linda passed away in her sleep early Saturday morning, January 12, 2019, at the Sanford Health Center, Bismarck, ND with Richard at her side.
Surviving her are: her husband, Richard Richardson, Watford City, ND; her sons, Robert “Bob” (Mindy) Richardson, Bismarck, ND, Richard “Rick” (Angie) Richardson, Beulah, ND, and Troy (Amanda) Richardson, Bismarck, ND; her grandchildren, Xavier, Remington, Aydan, Easton, Misty, Kaytlin, Austin, Addyson, and Samantha; her mother, Grace Allex, Watford City, ND; her brother, Brian (Joanne) Allex, Watford City, ND; her sisters, Debbie (Doug) Thompson, and Lynette (Dave) Hansen, both of Watford City, ND; her trusty fur baby, Stubs; many nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Lucas “Luke” Allex; her in laws, Robert and Lucille Richardson; and her step father-in-law, Jim Weber.

Linda and I grew up together and were pretty much inseparable throughout elementary school. So very sorry to hear of her passing. While most know her as Linda she was always Lindy to me.
