Joe was my hero from the first day I started practicing medicine in Sidney in 1976. In his own special way he was a magnificient teacher and colleague with an immense fund of knowledge in many different fields. He was just a brilliant doctor. A big empty spot is now in my heart, but I know he is in a better place. Farewell my friend.
