A great loss. I met Gary in the later 80's as a customer of mine. We quickly became friends and have kept in touch through the years. Many hunting and fishing stories and jokes. He endured a lot. RIP my friend and my sympathies to the family.

Beautifully written obituary. I appreciate learning more about Gary’s life. He and Beryl lived just two doors away from my husband, Steve, and I. Gary always seemed “up” and lived his life with gusto! He never shied from physical work; he was a big, powerful man with a wonderful laugh! He loved to make desserts which were irresistible! He truly loved people, especially his family.

I miss Gary and well remember his laughter, boisterous personality and of course, his fabulous cooking and baking! Every time I go walking with my dog I miss the times I would see Gary with the. Garage door open and he drinking a beer! He was so boisterous and fun! Loved his grilling and baking. He was also tough and strong. In a houseboat if grip with our neighbors he dug bug holes in the lake banks into which he carried heavy anchors and put them into the holes with sand to hold them in place. He was so string and happy to help in any way needed! I miss him every time I walk with my dog, wishing Gary was still standing in his garage drinking his favorite beer!
